Fighting the fire flies

I had some real trouble getting cycles to render with out the grain pain…
I found this article and the clamp option helped me out no end.

Anyway, here is my little lamp:

Thanks for linking that article. I had a lamp, and was about to post it, but when I saw all of the very pretty and inventive ones on here, I thought I’d touch it up first. However, when I did, little color specks were everywhere (fireflies, I think).

Your welcome, glad to be of assistance sir.
And thanks for letting me know it was useful. That will keep me posting stuff I find while doing the course.

Same here! Tanks a lot for the share!

Thanks for the article @Michael_Whitaker  in my case I increase the size of the lamp in the scene and the number of samples, and this is the result:

before

after

maybe dont need 1000 samples but it works hehe :yum:

Hi, good to see you guy’s found some use in the link I found.
1000 is a lot! And the end scene is a little bit on the dark size.

I like your design!

I think that if you where to up the strengh attribute of the light and just dubble the size of the lamp plane it would look even better with a lot less samples.
Or alternatively you could try making the background more reflective.

Have fun with the course.
