I find the short cut keys to be very handy. They to me are not at all intimidating. So far i find myself writing the short cuts down for if and when i forget them.
I agree with @David_Kelly. I find that the short cut keys become second nature over time as I practice with them.
I agree too. The shortcuts also allow me to keep my focus on the scene by not having to drag my mouse outside of it.
