I loved this course as it addressed some of the things I just did not get from the Orc / Orgre course like why you start with a hi res model and then bake the texture on the low res model. This has not clicked!

It’s also nice to see Grant make the “deliberate” mistakes to teach us all some things that could go wrong!

Overall I prefer the shorter courses but think we need an odd longer one like this to take us through everything.

I agree! And if you are wondering on why you bake from high res to low res, it is because low res models are way more performant and can be animated. Baking from high res to low res allows you to get great keep the great detail of the high res.

GameDev have / had more overall Blender courses. But people didn’t finish till the end. It took me more than a year to finish the Blender 2.79/2.8 course. Not so many people did. What they do now is to take a popular subject and tell how to get there while explaining some of the features of Blender, in a shorter time.
“How to create a dragon”, instead of learn “The basics of sculpting” …
