Some very early rough drafts of the torches I created for this lesson…
I created two variants for the base: One with a basic handle grip and extruded head for the flame; and another with a slightly-larger, more layered flame head and secondary grip underneath it.
For the flame itself, I took a slightly different approach and used a sphere as a starting point. From there, I moved some of the vertices around with the “Random” Proportional Editing mode enabled and tossed in some extra twisting and rotation.
Onwards, now, to see how well these light up the room
