I ran into some weird issues when trying to extrude the ramp… the axis it was extruding on looked much different than when Michael did it, and I couldn’t get it to snap to the top step at all (it kept trying to snap to a point inside the pyramid). So, I just eyeballed it up. Cheating? Yes. Will it come back to bite me in the butt later? Possibly. 
Had the same issues, both with the ramp and the railings. Did not make it easer that I am using a laptop without a mouse on my commute. It helped to use orthogal view and at the same time look at the object from one side instead of a diagonal view. Took a lot of tries until I had something that I thought of as useful.
