I’m learning Blender for 3D CGI, plus hand made and printed figures, for stop motion and live action animation. I enjoy making the hand sculpted marionettes and sets so the modeling part appeals as well.
Right -handed - what helped me visualize it best was switching to top view in Blender;.
Exports for: animated videos using physical puppets and CGI.

Hard to say without the gear but a bit of research shows 3D printers see ”Z” as up. Setting dimensions should work for scaling problems is my guess.
Export to print - models I’m should be joined, all one mesh and at 0,0,0. Closed at the bottom if necessary - usually better is my guess. Models combined with CGI rendered for video export will have position and scale baked into the final render.
