DrawDebugPoint Question?

Hi all,

Now that I have finished this lecture I need to ask this question. I was trying to shoot a wall that was down from a door opening and there was no point of any kind being registered, whereas closer walls were marked - is this becase of the length of the line being capped at only 10m (1,000)?

If so, is there a better way of setting the ray trace so a decent length can be obtained?

Maybe I’m misunderstanding the question, but you would just increase the distance of the line trace which is controlled by MaxRange in Sam’s code.

So, that would be yes, the line is being capped by the code, and no, there isn’t a more elegant way of doing it in an engine as powerful as Unreal. Got it!

Judging by the size or the rooms we are being exposed to in this stage I’ll just have to up the ante on that variable just so it can reach across the rooms - let alone the hallways, and I haven’t even searched through the stage enough to reach the ice stage might need as much as 5000 (50m) or more - a bit more than the 1,000 (10m) suggested.
