sense the challenge was with a sphere i thought id do a dragon head as even a simple one can look pretty good so i thought it would be a good exercise for an intermediate user like me though i tell you have this thing with rather high dyntopo and my orc base had me a bit worried for frames lol

No worries, just practice a lot. get a feel for what you can do and what your machine is capable of doing (memory-wise).
