Downloading via Steam

Hi,

Just wanted to double-check. Downloading Blender via Steam to follow this course shouldn’t make any difference?

Thanks

Well, I don’t think it will be a good idea because every time you try to open the blender, it will first open the steam, which will take an insanely long time. Just download the blender from the official website, and it will open as quickly as a bullet train. My opinion :bullettrain_side: :bullettrain_side:

It would make no difference in operation bar tying up computer resources running Steam as well.

A s has been said just download it directly. I always use the ‘portable’ version too.

To offer different opinion. I have 10 copies of Blender in different version, but also one through Steam. It auto updates (which can be both good and bad thing), but also it track time in Blender. It’s cool (even if useless really) feature, but I like it.

And no, there shouldn’t be any difference, esp. if you have steam launched automatically with windows.
