I have downloaded visual studio, do I need to download VS code as well?
No. Just choose one. Either one should work. I’ve personally preferred Visual Studio lately. VS Code’s extensions haven’t always been reliable for me.

Several people have been struggling with VS Code. I’d recommend using VS 2022 CE if you’re on Windows. Otherwise stick to VS Code.

You need Visual Studio as that contains the C++ toolchain. You don’t need VS Code unless you want a consistent experience with the course as that is what the course uses.
