OK, first I found the extra quads beneath “hole” before I left 104. Fixed them. So great. But before I got through with 105, I had restarted 4 times. So, I put it on hold until my mind can get around the redo-undo issue. For immediate time at least.
Sometimes, it really does help to step back and give it a day or two then go back to your work. I had to redo my lamp a time or two. I didn’t quite understand using the curves so I played around with just curves separate from the Lamp project. That helped me quite a bit. LOL…not going to say how many times I had to rewatch the videos!
Thanks for your comment Ms. Christensen, I stayed away 12 days and then watched video a number of times. I posted a “formal question” to Michael to please revise 104 & 105 for future students. Notwithstanding, perseverance does enhance learning; however, in my humble opinion, unnecessary “fiddling” reduces the positive experience of fulfilling the lecture. Probably I am the oldest “student” in the course and have been really challenged in life. My best to you.
I am not sure you are the oldest taking the course; I thought I was and is why some of this stuff doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me. I think Michael will listen to any suggestions made and make improvements where needed. This by far is the best Blender course I have tried to take and, I have tried to make many over the years to understand Blender.
Anyway, if you have other questions, you can post them in the GameDev.TV forums as well. It is a good community for those of us taking the course or others that Ben & Michael do. Share ideas. Help one another. I know I have had several things I didn’t understand and others have graciously answered my questions. Or, you can message me privately and will try to help if I am able.
Good luck and I do hope you enjoy the rest of the lectures.
