I though blender could do everything from scratch until a finished animated little shortfilm, is this not right? Or are there any other platforms I should make use of, anybody who knows? 
You can make short film with blender you can skip session if you want

Blender is capable of short animations. Whole movies have been made with Blender. I think the only time you would need to export to a different program is if you’re going to 3d print, or possibly for more complicated games. Not sure about the games, though. I’d have to do some of the courses in game making to be sure of that.
