Dissapearing Trees?

This has to do with lecture 8_AA_UY3

When I am in “paint terrain” mode and CTRL click as instructed to level terrain to a selected height all the trees dissapear even though the “Draw Trees” checkbox remains checked. CTRL Z does nothing but if I exit unity and reload the scene the trees reappear.

Is this a bug or am I doing something accidentally? We are instructed this workflow at around 03:25 of the lecture.

My version currently is Unity 2020.3.30f

Your problem does not seem to be in the list of the known problems.

Could you please share screenshots of what you did and see in Unity?

I’ve seen this same bug/feature. EVERY tree just disappears from my scene.

At first I thought it was something I did, but undoing everything didn’t help with bringing my trees back. After continuing sculpting with the Terrain Tools and going back and forth between some Paint Terrain tools, all my trees suddenly reappeared again. Yay!

So no definite solution here but the trees do not just disappear: they’re just made invisible.
I have no idea to make the trees visible again consistently, but I’ve tried 3 times now and 3 times they reappeared after sculpting around with some random brushes around the spot where the trees disappeared first.
