Different thickness at 7th pyramid step

is it just my feeling or the 7th step of the pyramid has a different thickness between the video “Insetting In Blender”, " Mistakes When Subdividing A Surface" and “QT - Different Selection Methods”?

in the video “Insetting In Blender”, the thickness of the insetting for the 7th step of the pyramid is 2m.

but when I watch the 7th step of the pyramid in the video “Mistakes When Subdividing A Surface” and “QT - Different Selection Methods”, the thickness feels different and seems to be 1m

and this makes me confused and hard to make a ramp at 45 degrees from base to the top of the steps like in the video.

Select the pyramid base face in edit mode and grab 1m up → gz1.

At some point in the lectures Mikey does raise the base up. However he shows a poor way of doing it that does cause many people problems. FedPete’s way selecting all the base verts is right.
