Difference from 3D course's inventory system

I noticed that there is no drag and drop functionality (as we don’t interact with the mouse) and also that the objects are not created and destroyed.

Is this the best practice for 2D games? Could we use scriptable objects if that was better?

While I don’t get what you’re asking, it probably isn’t. You really want to get to the point where you’re binding your data in your UI.

You could, but why do you think you should?

So the way it’s done here is not the best practice? I see that the data is in the script.

I don’t know because I’m not the expert, I honestly want to know. I’m trying to relate what I learnt in the 3D course.

That depends on your point of view. The answer is both yes and no.
