I’ve uploaded a video of the scene. “deform” is not active but the lamp does deform
The only thing I can think of is the location, rotation or scale hasn’t been applied. Alt+A for the apply menu.
Then again, the Blender Stack Exchange has other ideas.
I encountered a similar issue that wasn’t covered in the course, thankfully I believe the solution is very simple unless I screwed something up down the line that wasn’t intended. Which is entirely possible. Just to give you fair warning.
In the bone constraints menu, under “Use Tail” and beside “Chain Length” is a checkbox for “Stretch” deselect that, and you should be good to go.
