When I start the simulation, my pins fall a bit into the plane and then fall over to the left. This is after moving the center of mass as the instructor suggested. My pin model didn’t fall in Unity.
I tried deleting the plane and starting over, but Blender started acting weird. I couldn’t go to Orthogonal side view any more. The changes I made to all the pins (mass, friction, etc.) would not persist. The values kept going back to the originals. Also, adding dampening produced the opposite results. More dampening should mean more energy loss, but the energy actually increased.
I then returned to the original blender file where I had created my pin and tried the physics there. But now the pin moves up away from the plane (instead of into it).
What is going on?? The pin is not animated. So the physics engine is moving the pin upward.
