Decimate Modifier

I have moved onto the retopo stage and decided to use the decimate modifier for the body and then manually retopo the head. I’m getting these strange shapes that look like an x between the quads after using the decimate? Any tips on the best way to fix them?

It is what auto things do. You can try to improve them by hand or retopo the body by hand as well.

I decided to just retopo the body by hand, gives me more control over things. I’ll post for feedback when I have a retopo mesh completed.

I would just delete a pole (with 6 edges) and work from there.

That would be quicker, I’ll save my manual retopo so I can come back to it if needed and attempt that, aside from the poles the decimate had good topology.
