Cycles render not rendering color/material properly on one mesh

I’m on Blender 2.8x. When I render with cycles render, one specific mesh does not have the color rendered properly. I’ve tried toying with the # of samples, light placement, and light intensity, but this one specific mesh never renders with the proper color. Any ideas?

Here’s the cycles render with default settings:

Difficult to say, but maybe you have inverted normals?

Edit bar, select all vertices (‘a’) and then Shift+n.

You should also check, if everything is in order in the shading workspace.

I tried that and looked at the shaders, no leads there. But.

I decided to delete that mesh and remake it. Upon deleting it, I discovered there was an identical duplicated mesh overlapping it without any material set. It was just a grey box.

Oops.
