Crystal Cavern Section Complete - Video of Features

Pretty great section, learned a great deal about the blueprint system from both the instructor and my own research I did for the fact that I am using UE 5.1. I put together this video to show what I did. Here is a quick list:

  • Shrinking Death Animation
  • Rotating Crystals with Custom Materials
  • Modeled my own cannon and did lasers instead of canonballs
  • Spike Traps
  • Stopped Camera from moving once player has died
  • Used Enhanced Input System (Video is recorded with me playing via an Xbox controller)

Got plenty of practice in this section and am looking forward to starting the Mars Marine game soon.

I had subtitles describing the parts of the video that didn’t render I guess, and then the laser death isn’t show greatly for whatever reason that didn’t render either, but its the same shrink and camera stop effect.
