Crypt Raider Grabber wont stay built

Hi,

I have been following the lessons and have created the Grabber.cpp and .h files.
When i do live coding this works fine and i can do all the things like add to blue print.

When i came back the next day and opened the blue print was missing the grabber component.
I closed the editor and run the rebuild task from teh terminal in VSCode.
THis came back sayign all complete. Reopened the editor and went to add my grabber component back to my player blue print. But its not there. But if i hit live codign it rebuilds and then appears again.
But if i close it will all dissappear and not save with it being there.
This happens the same with the Mover component too and it dissappears unless i hit Live Coding and recompile thorugh that. Otherwise it is gone.

I have run the Build Task for Win64 Development Build several times and there is never any error.

Has anybody else had this problem?

Yes , Same here.
When I want to keep changes I close unreal project and compile from ide. Then reopon project I found changes to be permanent after that.

I have tried that but it doesn’t seem to work. I had the same problem with the obstacle course but it worked fine with that.
I was running Engine 5.1.1 at that time but once I started the next section with the first person shooter template it crashed constantly so had to drop back to 5.0.3

I shut the editor down after saving and then rebuild with Visual Studio Code but then when reopening the editor grabber class is not found

You are likely not using the right task, are you sure you are using the Editor version? Could you show what you’re using?

HI,
im using this one

Yeah, that’s not the right one. You need the editor version.

Mate you are a life saver!
2 hours i spent doing that and didnt notice the editor bit was missing.

That worked perfectly first time.

Thanks so much
