Hi, I am wondering if any of the Blender courses cover the creation of 2d assets (sprites and sprite sheets) from 3d models. I’m using Godot engine; if that makes any difference.
There is a brand new pixel art Course here on this site not yet released to Udemy I believe. Though that does not sound exactly what you are after.
Presumably to use a 3d model to make a 2d image you just render out what you want at the pixel sizes you need.
thanks for the reply NP5. Yes, I think you are right about rendering the 3d model to get a 2d image. I suppose I am wondering if there is a clever way to always get the same (lets say isometric) camera angle/position and lighting for a series of model poses (lets say a walking animation) - and repeat for all the assets for a game. I assume this must be something that is done for a whole lot of games.
I think not, but you can (as I did) find enough information on the web.
I generate ISOMETRIC 3D Blender images, and imported them into tiles mapping software, to be used as a library for 2D graphic development.
Thanks FedPete. That’s exactly what I’m wanting to do.
