I really love how you can put those short sessions into your daily down time. I just wish my laptop wouldn´t turn into a jet engine every time. lol
Did you try Eevee?
In basic setup it has a lower quality, but super fast.
And if you know which options to turn, Eevee renders can be very impressive.
Thanks for your help, it actually already is Evee, it´s just that my laptop is a certified old potato. I don´t even think Blender is the offender here tbh, it might be something else running in the bg.
When I find some time this weekend I´ll flatten it and see if I can squeeze some performance out of it by changing to Linux.
I’ve also an old laptop. But it is still capable of doing Blender (Eevee and Cycles).
- Can you activate a GPU?
- Internal memory - show resources and start Blender, see if you have enough memory free to do projects. Memory disk swapping makes it very slow.
- Stop background processes
- Check for usual things like the number of vertices (millions)
I can relate to a laptop being a jet engine, mines overheated and broke, I’m using a desktop now, but that laptop was burning hot in like 10 minutes.
That might work
Just don’t literally do that
