so as few topics are yet to be updated to blender 2.8, can we take a look at the older 2.7x version’s videos and carry on? or are there some extra stuff or stuff that has been deleted?

If you browse to the end of the current 2.8 content there is a link to the entire 2.79 course.
This is an archived course so its not longer supported but the content is there and still able to be followed.
