[Course Complete] Lecture 65: Rendering

Here’s my final render for this course.
Blender + Unreal 3D Game Character - 克美ちゃん - Stage 2 (Rig and Animation) - YouTube

The course had many great parts but others were a huge disappointment. The two biggest flaws for me were:
1 - The lack of GameDev instruction
2 - The lack of Japanese Anime instruction

The course doesn’t mention anything about Game Engines, Game-Ready Rigs, Export-Import Methods and many other crucial aspects of Game Ready Characters. I struggled a lot learning this trough Youtube and none of the Blender Courses I bought teach this.

It also doesn’t teach anything about Japanese Anime Art Style, common Japanese proportions, no hint of eastern art at all.

I’m very grateful for this learning experience but I realized that in order to achieve my GameDev Dreams, it is time for me to move on from buying GDTV Courses and stick to just asking the community for help. Thanks everyone. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Nice character well presented. I suppose you have to start somewhere and you won’t necessarily learn all you need to know from one course?

Thank you. The thing is that none of the Blender courses available here teach about Game Engine Integration.

As a beginner, it was so hard finding reliable information on Blender Rigs for Game Engines that I almost gave up. It’s very tricky and difficult for beginners to learn that with just random YouTube tutorials.

I’ve finished several “COMPLETE Blender Artist by GDTV” and “COMPLETE Game Developer Courses by GDTV” as they like to advertise, but it’s disappointing to be promised everything and be delivered just starting points but never the middle or end points.

Perhaps do an internet search for reviews of course on game development? I don’t know what Udemy courses are available? Maybe try there.
There is this Quora article that looks useful
https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-best-course-for-learning-game-development
to be honest I don’t know enough about topic too be more useful.

I think there are some new courses being worked on for Blender to some engines. No word yet of completion time. It is an area that a few want, and is very specific. That really can’t all be covered in a Blender course. So keep a look out it may be exactly what you want.

Yes it’s exactly what I want. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
I guess it’s safe to assume that there are very few Game Developers who both know how to model 3D Characters in Blender and also know how to make Game Engine Compatible Rigs.

I say this because the learning curve is very steep in each step of the process: modelling, rigging, creating animations, exporting the rig and animations, setting up inside engine, adding game logic…
It’s tough.

That’s why I want to become a tutorial maker and help students have an easier time in this tough journey.
