Cooldown doesn't work, Enemy key repeatedly getting set to none and then back to player

I am using UE v4.18 and still the cooldown doesn’t work properly. The guards are most of the time ignoring the cooldown. I think this is because the ‘enemy key’ in the blackboard is getting set to none and then back to player repeatedly. There is a fault with AIPerception that is repeatedly detecting the player and then failing to detect the player. I think this has something to do with the collision that is happening between the character mesh and the projectile when it is spawned.
