Completely redesigning my game scene

I decided to redesign my game scene since I wasn’t sure if the current one is suitable for what I had in my for the game. One of the things I did was to create a new terrain, larger than the previous one (1500x1500 instead of 1000x1000) and more detailed.
Not only baking lighting data takes more time, the resulting files are large enough to make Sourcetree complain when I try to stage changes (almost 60MB). While adding LightingData.* to my gitignore file did silence that warning, I’ve been wondering about other ways to solve silence that warning.
Has anyone else had that happen to them? I’d love to hear other people’s ideas and solutions to this problem.
