Is it possible to combine manual and automatic retopology? From what I’ve seen here and elsewhere, it seems that manual retopology can be very useful for the face, but provides a lot less benefit for arms/legs/torso, except possibly around joints. So, is it possible to use manual retopology for some areas of the mesh, while retopologizing other areas of the mesh automatically?

You can join meshes!
What you need is to connect mesh one (head) with mesh two (body without head) manualy.
That makes sense. Just was trying to figure out whether that was the best option. Might just do really basic manual retopology, too…
