Collider Pin

Okay, here’s my collider mesh, nothing fancy … What I noticed:

  • I didn’t need to make it flat because I already ensured this earlier: my Bezier curve already made a small, perfectly flat surface on which the pin is standing. As long as I didn’t decimate too much, this surface remained
  • Another reason not to go too far with decimating (which was not mentioned in the video) is that the model is no longer “round” enough. This is seen in top-view: even if the silhouette is still “rather OK” from the side, if it is not round enough, this means that a bowling ball can still pass it and hit the pin without hitting the collider mesh even if this is not obvious in front-view.

Anyhow, the resulting collider mesh seems to be approximately the same size, i.e., 121 vertices in my case. And with the reference still there, I think the collider mesh looks good.
