in newer versions the cinemachine is no longer shows up top. now it’s in the [ Hierarchy > Right click ]

Thanks for posting this, very helpful.
When i right click on hierarchy i still dont see cinemachine 
oh its under GameObject > Cinemamachine > Virtual Camera!

Additionally, if you add Cinemachine while the game is running, cinemachine will not show up. Stop the game first and the cinemachine menu will appear in Gameobject > cinemachine, or Right click in gameobject hierarchy.
This was my issue, the game was still running and I couldn’t see the Cinemachine update. Once I stopped the game, the folder appeared under ‘Packages’.
