Chess Scenes

I also decided to model a coffee cup to throw in the scene for a little pop of color.

I’m also working on a high res set that I’m going to revisit once I have figured out how to sculpt a little. First pic was a reference photo that I found interesting.

Feedback is appreciated!

Great work! beautiful lighting and yes, the orange cup, adds something to the scene.
It’s more a reference to overall size (scale).
In the first image, the white horse looks likes it’s hovering … I think Eevee settings?

Oh, I’ll have to look into that further.

It’s a Cycles render so I’m not 100% where the issue is. In Cycles I tend to rely on scene lights a ton less bc I use HDRIs so maybe this is related?

Thanks!

Ok Cycles then.
It could be the gameboard shiny texture. Where the shadow is very low due to the HDRI map.
