Made dis instead. I used boolean add function to combine the chess base with the objects and made them as one piece. Got the gargoyle and Trex for free from the internet. They are tweaked a bit to my liking.
I’m having a hardtime adjusting the camera view. In the walk navigation, the Alt+WASD function helps but not by much. Tried to use the CTRL+ALT+Numpad 0 to adjust camera to my current view, but somehow it didn’t work for me. 
Thank you so much for the amazing course. I started off with zero blender knowledge and I can definitely see progress.
