Chess scene - Multiple cameras

Still not doing great with the shadows and lights, but other than that, I am pretty content with how this turned out.

Figured I’d also make a chess table to complement the board, that was pretty fun.

Pretty substantial table top!

But good stools and chess set.

  • Try to use only one sunlamp
  • Or move your lamps away from the chessboard and increase wattage (power).
  • Work with the environment light

It does look a lot better with just one sun lamp. And no light colours. It could just be me, but I feel like neutral lights are usually better. I don’t see myself using colours unless I want to emulate a lightsaber or a similar object.

Yes better. Although the course feels the need to demonstrate light colours can be changed I almost never use it. Has to be a good logical reason as far as I am concerned.

The sub lamp light can be used with a blackbody node (don’t know why it’s called like that), but with it, you can select sun color temperature, morning, afternoon colors.
Also using an HDRI (background) image will generate more natural colors and reflections.
