Beautiful!
I like your dog
Very nice.
How did you make the board Tudor rose? Note: every other row of them the carving is upside down.
I cut the rose out of another image, but because it’s a pentagram, it would always point at one side being the “top”. I chose instead to have an alternating pattern.
It would be cool to find/draw a similar pattern without that orientation - give it a normal map and place the pattern just underneath another semi transparent surface overhead, so the pieces can sit on top.
It is not that they are rotated looking down on them but the image is inverted. Possibly happened from the rotation If you look at the two. One is ‘carved’ up the other down. Compare the centres, once you see it the rest then clear too. Try the gold queen, left and above her top. One is the negative of the other.
Interestingly that is what I thought you were aiming for. If you modeled the rose, then put a ‘glass’ plane over it, it may well work. Or by normal maps, but you need to create them, I tend to do real geometry as first option. lol.
When rotating the bitmap the shadow as part of the image, rotates too. That is why NP5 indicated ‘inversion’.
The shadow is on the wrong side.
It caught me too, immediately! It is how the brain is working.
Ah, that might explain it. Really weird and substantial effect.
Much better!
