Chess board, first mapping textures

Hello there,

Here some screenshots and renders from this lecture showing the progres in mapping textures.
I think I went maybe too much with the lights and texture. :slight_smile:

Did anyone felt a bit overwhelm with the Nodds system? Like its too much to understand at first. All this new windows linked with all the options to play with…it was a bit intimidating and confusing. Maybe it was just me I’m a slow learner :smiley:

if you mean material nodes.
yes, it can be intimidating at first.
It can be also slow.
But it is your first project.
Practise more, little steps each time.

Yes nodes are intimidating, but you get used to the ones you use. The area is getting a whole lot ‘worse’ with geometry nodes coming in Blender 3. lol Ok They will end up like any others, unless you specialise in them, you get to know the ones that you use often.
