Good models and board.
While in the unreal space of a 3d model they are absolutely fine, sometimes it is the non Blender aspects that need to be born in mind. Can you see those pawn/bishop heads staying intact long if they even could be made with such thin necks?

Very true, in reality they would probably snap off after one game

We could argue that those thin necks are done with a very, very sturdy material, something like steel, or maybe something more akin to adamantium.
