Changed to Blender 3.5, cannot set properties when creating a mesh

I just changed from Blender 3.4 to 3.5 to follow the Geometry nodes course, and I got problems at the first step.

I am used to setting the properties for new meshes from the pop-up that appears when creating them, but in 3.5 the pop-up appears, with the options disabled, so I cannot create even the first shape suggested in the course.

This is the screenshot. Not too informative, I created an ico sphere and the menu that appears is disabled, so I cannot set the subdivisions nor anything.

Does this ring any bells? What can be happening here?

Ok, I found out that this is a bit weird behavior. Just enable Global Undo in Preferences → System, and done, things work again and don’t ask why! :woman_shrugging:

Maybe it would be a good thing to point out when talking about version 3.5.

I believe that has been a problem since 2.82 or when ever they redid the undo system. Global Undo is checked by default so most people never notice.

I only had changed from version 3.4 to 3.5, so I really seem to have hit the point where this was updated.

When you installed v3.5 did you import the old settings?

Yes, I did! And now that you mention it… this particular setting was not imported correctly, because it was enabled in the 3.4 version, and I found it disabled in 3.5 (I had never noticed it even existed).
