Challenge - CYOA Design: Surreal/Existential

I dig existentialism and surreal art, and I thought a CYOA game, whose core mechanic, after all, is making choices, would deliver a surreal-existentialist theme really well. I envision the existentialism at the fore, in a Stanley Parable-esque way digging at the question of, “What even is a choice and why make one?”, while the surrealism serves as the backdrop to elicit the whole WTF!?ness of the exploration.

Housing the player in a eudaemon complements both of these influences: it’s goal is to exist, just, you know, at all, but along the way it bumps into major conundrums about what that even means, and how it thinks about and perceives itself (and thinks about perceiving itself, &c.).
