A fine Castle, just one defensive error! The gap in the walls.
Rumor has it a King was so confident in his archer/bowman that he had his castle built with 13 watch towers and no fortified gate entry.
The castle was positioned in a unique geographical position on top of a mountain so that it would always receive a strong westward wind toward the opening entry. (This phenomena still remains a mystery today.)
This would give the archer/bowman a huge advantage in range and legend remains to this day that this is where the fear of the number 13 originated. They never missed.
The castle was known for its many historic battles.
It was never breached.
Particularly remarkable owing to the fact the archers had to operate from the ground inside the castle as there were no wall walks for them atop the walls or entrances to the towers. It was a remarkable feat of early disinformation and propaganda. Paying ballad singers and storytellers to create the myth of its invincibility such that none dared to try.
