I am using Ubuntu 14.04 and blender 2.69 on a laptop . I did emulate the 3 button mouse and Emulate Numpad. Now when i click the right trackpad button I get to select the object and move it. I am able to use number keys to change the view of the object. But I am unable to see the object from other angles.
I was able to pan left/right, up/down using Ctrl and number keys. I found those in View>Navigation.
