Can't find the "displacement method" option in the data area

I watched over the video repeatedly and I can’t get the same result to show up. I followed fine in the blender render, but when I go to the data section it doesn’t give me any displacement options. Custom properties is my last option. I’ve tried to select various things, but it just doesn’t seem to work.

Same issue here…no displacement options (cycles), using v2.79

Additional info…

I found the displacement option under the Material tab. It’s a sub-setting under the Settings section. Again, only appears when in Experimental mode.

Section 7 Lesson 199 - 2.78c Version difference

The option has been moved in Blender 2.78 from where it was in the version used for the video (2.76 if I remember correctly).[image] as you can see, it now appears under “Settings” on the “Materials Tab”
