Trying to follow along the tutorial. Deleted the bottom of the pin. Cannot alt select the loop at bottom. If I manually select, F will not fill. Any ideas? It does work on a new primitive, so It is something with my pin…
It sounds like you have overlapping vertices. Try selecting all the vertices and merging by distance.

As @zeRgenTa suggests probably extra geometry, double verts in the same space. If that does not work, show us a picture!

This can be done by Blender itself, via the ‘Window’ menu bar top left hand side.
On that menu drop down is ‘save screenshot’.
Close ups additionally where they help.

Yes…went back to the original pin file. Remade the spin from the bezier…I forgot to “remove doubles” or as it is not called, “merge by distance”.
