Can't create an executable!

When I use the default TPP template and try to create an executable, it gives me this error: Assertion failed: Index != INDEX_NONE. I googled it and someone said that I need to create my own anim blueprint, so I followed the tutorial and made a new blueprint to use that, but it still returns this error. What should I do?

Thanks for the advice, but it didn’t work.

I verified the engine and retried on my existing project, which gave me the same error in the screenshot. I then created a new Third person cpp template project and ran the executable immediately, but the engine still gave me the same error.

Is there any other thing that I can try?

Is this just a fresh Third Person Template project with no modifications?

Yes it is. On UE 5.0.1. Setting the anim class to ‘none’ in the character BP is the only way I’ve found to solve the problem, but I would like the character to have some animations

I can’t seem to reproduce this on my end. What operating system are you using?

Could you also try reinstalling the templates? Use “Options” from the previous screenshot then untick “Templates and Feature Packs” then apply, then re-add them.

I’m on Windows 10. I googled and tested more on my end, and got it to run. Thanks for the help!

If anyone sees this, you have to comment out everything in the constructor of your gamemode(in the gamemode.cpp file), add your character BP in the level, and set your auto possess settings.

But now some materials are not showing up properly. Do I have to make a new question or can I keep going on this post?
