Hi so part of a team for a gamejam were were just wondering on the the animation of the cannon. Can we simply move the cannon up and down by mouse pointer in godot? Or does the cannon animation look nicer with the move up and down blender animation instead? If so, what should we keep in mind for doing that or is there a tutorial or place to get some help for that.
Since you mention Blender, you’re probably trying to do this in 3D, and it’s also likely you’re trying to change the pitch of a 3rd-person cannon vs 1st-person. It’s a lot more difficult to get a meaningful mouse position for that in 3D than in 2D, but if you can manage it, you’ll be able to aim with more speed and precision.
Failing that, you could create UI that changes the cannon’s pitch for you (in increments, or holding the button down to move it smoothly). This can also be done with keypresses/holds. Given the way a real cannon works, this would probably be more realistic anyway, but it’s totally up to you and what you think you can accomplish in the time given =)
