After going through the lessons for candle modeling and subsurface scattering, I wanted to flesh things out further with some of my own experimentation.
I created a procedural material for the wax, a sculpted model for the candle, a flame on a wick that flickers via the use of animated Shape Keys – and then I tossed it all together on a plate inside of a slightly smokey volume to serve up a short film
