Can you ignore triangles/quads around the eyes?

Hi Grant

I’m following along with this lecture in the Retoplogy section. I see you’r cutting around the eyes and nose. So far I’m getting close result as yours

But… I noticed you got bunch of triangles as show in the screenshot. Is it ok to ignore these?

Because it is to my understanding undetected triangles and quad can cause nasty problems for animated character

Thanks for your advice in advance.

It can in some cases but around the face is not too much of an issue here as we are not animating it.
Tri’s are an over worry in blender as the game engine converts to tri’s anyway and hte only reason we really need quads if for our own sanity.
Modifiers and things like loop cuts work with quads but if you are passed the point of loopcuts or are retopologizing anyway you would be using a combination of loop cuts and the knife tool to recorrect it

Mostly you want to look out of ngons and poles
