Camera Outline scaling

Hello

I have a bit of an odd question, and it’s not a major issue but it’s bugging me.
The camera in Unity shows with a grey outline, showing what’s visible in the scene.
However, when I add a second window to the viewport area, the camera outline changes into a square-ish shape.

Can someone explain the behaviour of this outline, and also why it is showing as a square-ish shape please?

By default the Game tab uses ‘Free Aspect’ rather than a set resolution, which means whatever size and shape the window is in influences what the camera shows. In the first picture the Game tab is the same size and shape as the Scene tab, so it’s wider than it is tall. In the second picture the Game tab has been made to fit alongside the Scene tab and they’re both approximately square shaped, which is reflected in the camera object’s outline.

Ah that’s awesome, thanks! I’ve set it to Full HD now and it keeps the aspect ratio preview in the Scene tab. It makes sense to me to keep the previews as accurate to the Play mode as possible. Thanks!
