As Michael mentioned, the scale can mess things up or in my case, fix things.
My archway was was too long no mater what I tried to fix with the bezier curve (I even tried to do only half of it and mirror it)
But then, I scaled it down just to fit and it worked !
BTW, having just half a bezier curve and have it mirrored allowed a much more symmetrical and good looking arch.
