I am new to blender so I wonder how can I import the wood texture on the plane just like other ppl scenes?

Michael goes into more about texturing and using cycles in the Section on Animated Lamp and continues to build upon it the rest of the course.

Great thing about this course is it takes you through things step by step and shows you alternate ways of doing things as you are ready to learn them. I was a bit frustrated at first not being able to texture things like others were doing but finally figured out it was good to take it a step at a time.
I misspoke and apologize! You will learn more about Cycles and rendering in the next Section, Low Poly Chess Set.
You have a great start with your lighting and camera usage! I still have issues with both of those!
