A week into using Blender, and super-impressed with what it allows me to do, and the things you can find out by just playing!
Here we have:
- Matt flooring
- A floor subsurface colored darkly, scaled to bowling lane width
- Wood material floor, 20 panels created by Array and separated slightly to allow the dark subsurface to come through, and made reflective (as if oiled like a bowling lane) to capture the pins and bowl
- Tie-dyed bowling ball
- Pins with a machine-scratched material, and I figured out a way to apply a random number generator to make each pin look similar but unique
- Pin layout is by array, which I figured was maybe the easiest way to get the spacing right/to scale
- Rendered in Cycles @ 4k
Iām pretty happy with how this has turned out so far, and as always am looking for ways to improve it, so feedback is most welcome!
